I must congratulate IDA for thinking of building such shelter & helping these lovely creatures!
I live in Bhopal(M.P.) & yesterday I saw the NDTV Good Times' coverage of IDA(@Heavy Petting) and I was really moved by the stories the place has to tell! You guys are simply wonderful!

People Don't Go Adopting Street Dogs Except For The Ones Who Really Know How Good They Can Be As Friends Or As A Loyal Guard. And It Has Been Going Great. I Interacted With Certain Farmers Outside My City And Found That All Have Them Have Their Own Desi Dogs Hanging Out In Their Farms Who Would Play All The Time And Would Get Lunch & Dinner(3 Chappatis & Bones On Occasions) And From The Way They Wagged Their Tails, I Knew These Dogs Are Treated Well. These Farmers Were Willing To Adopt As High As 3 Street Dogs If They Were Trained Enough To Follow Directives. I Do Believe That These Guys Treat Them Fairly Well. And If All Goes Well, I Will Have 20-30 Sterilized And Trained Dogs Adopted In Two Month's Time. The Amazing Thing Is That The Colonies Which Find These Street Dogs Disgusting Are Also Supporting Me.

Hi Romil, Glad you are so keen to get as many street dogs adopted as you can. You have even found out that they can have a great time out on our farms in rural areas. It's good to hear that our farmers appreciate how great the Ind-dog really is. Personally I think they are one of the healthiest most intelligent type of dog you can come across.
Our shelter dogs have been at our place for a long time and we all love them so much -there are even 14 blind ones in Deonar Centre who seem to be quite happy! We have got a long term plan for their welfare which we are slowly putting into place. One such idea is re-homing - they are very friendly, laid-back, clean and would make simply great house pets. Wish us luck!! Hope all of them get a lovely home.
Meanwhile scout around for more ideas to see that all our Ind-dogs are ultimately appreciated and find their rightful place in Society.
