IDA INDIA HELPLINE:
- IDA India has 2 centres, in Deonar Mumbai and Vashi in Navi Mumbai.
- IDA India has 4 large ambulances that operate in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, and are mainly used for catching and releasing of dogs for sterilization program. Two of these vans are fitted with hydraulic lift to pick up large animals like cows, bullocks, horses, donkeys, etc. that are in distress.
- IDA India has 3 small ambulances that serve as Mobile Clinics. These vans have a qualified vet and a Driver-cum-helper, and they treat animals with minor ailments like skin problem, cold & cough, etc. on the road itself. One van moves in Eastern suburb and another in the Western suburb of Mumbai, while the third van moves in Navi Mumbai region.
- IDA India has night service in Mumbai for emergencies during the night. This service is available between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- IDA India has a separate Helpline for large animals like ponies, bullocks, cows, donkeys, etc.
- IDA India has a centre in Neral to help ponies working in the region of Matheran, Kalyan and Titwala, however there is no in-patient facility at this centre. Treatment is done on OPD basis or by visits to the patients.

Our ambulances cater to hundreds of animals in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai area, and our Helpline makes every effort to attend to the call promptly, but since the area covered by them is huge, there could be times when the vans are away from the place from where you call for help to an animal. Also due to heavy traffic on our streets, the ambulances could get caught in traffic and may not be able to reach immediately. In such event:
- It would be really helpful if you could bring the animal in your vehicle or an auto-rickshaw to our centre.
- If that is not convenient to you, we may suggest you to approach another animal NGO closer to the place of the distressed animal, so that help reaches sooner than the time our van would take coming from a distance. - If the call is not of serious nature e.g. skin problem, then we could take note of the call and send the van at the earliest opportunity, probably next day.
- We could take note of the call, and request one of our volunteers in the region to give first aid, and then wait for the ambulance to reach the spot.
- When you are calling for the ambulance, please make sure that the animal is secured, if possible, either inside an enclosed space like a compound or tied so that the trip is not wasted. A wasted trip could mean a loss of life elsewhere.
- Being a not-for-profit organization, we welcome donations towards the costs of running the ambulances / treatment. If you do give cash to the ambulance staff, please insist on a receipt, and if you give a cheque please write your name, address, contact numbers and email i.d. on the cover or at the back of the cheque, so that the receipt is sent in due course from the office.
