Special Project for IDA by Georgia Institute Of Technology Students

College students at Georgia Institute of Technology have to spend a certain number of hours in their semester doing Charity /Philantrophy work. With this in mind our Committee Member Ms. Sarita Raturi was approached by final Year Industrial Engineering students of  "Georgia Institute of Technology" in Atlanta. Being a committee member she recommended that they do a project to support IDA, India.

With Sarita's advice the students submitted a term proposal to the faculty in Sept 09 which was approved and work on the project started in the first week of October 09.

The team of students that were part of the project is as follows
  • Dhruv Bhandari
  • Jeff Chau
  • Eric Crawshaw
  • Saloni Mehra
  • Colin Malone
  • Aditya Nyayapathi
  • Munir Pathak

The term proposal they were to execute outlined the cause, plan of action and measuring the impact the project. The students created a website to raise awareness and used it to generate  donations for IDA, India. The students worked hard on this project and the initiative ended in the 2nd week of December 09.

Thanks to the students efforts approximately $1000 was raised for IDA, India and more importantly they created a lot of awareness regarding our work.

On behalf of the entire In Defence Of Animals, India family we would like to say a big THANK YOU to these enterprising students. We wish them all the best for the bright future each one of them is sure to have and hope many more students take up such causes in the future as well.

Special thanks to Ms.Sarita Raturi for leading this effort and encouraging the students to take on this work.
