Christmas Eve Party at Deonar Centre

One of our supporters, Teresa, wanted to treat the IDA India Deonar staff to a Christmas treat, so we decided to have a small party along with Christmas tree in our small garden at Deonar. Teresa decorated the tree and took it along to Deonar and the party was held on Saturday, 24th December. Our invited guest enjoyed themselves and so did the Vets, Dr. Shashikant, Dr. Parab, Asst Manager Prashant and all the wardboys present. Assts Selvi and Pooja did a good job dishing up the delicious snacks that Teresa had provided and many of us went back for seconds.

Of course, the garden was full of puppies who slip into this area from the adjacent puppy pen. Just like excited kids at a function, they ran around the garden and played with each other.

Selvi was given a small Christmas gift for the hard work she had put in at our recent Jumble Sale.

The sale was a pre-Christmas one and had gone off very well. This Christmas we also had a group in Bandra who went around the suburb singing carols for our IDA animals and their welfare. Their entire proceeds will be sent to IDA India to buy food and other necessities for the animals.

It seems, the true Christmas spirit has been at work and we are happy that our lovely animal friends have been instrumental in spreading goodwill among men and women (and kids) in Mumbai.

At the party, we also launched our new Sponsorship Programme for our Resident Cats. We have the most beautiful cats just waiting to be sponsored and Madhu Roy, our Project Coordinator, made very attractive posters which were put up when the launch was announced.
