Press Release for 'Animal Ambulance - Arpan Vidhi'

1st May 2005 Maharashtra Day became a memorable day in animal history too. A large number of animal lovers were gathered in Rama Watumull Auditorium, K.C.College, Churchgate to witness the Arpan Vidhi of Animal Ambulance to In Defence of Animals (IDA India) organization for the service of stray animals by Chief Guest Mrs. Maneka Gandhi, Member of Parliament donated by Ms. Fizzah Shah and Mr. Navanitlal R. Shah of Ashapura Exports Pvt. Ltd. IDA India felicitated five unsung heroes Daena Mehta, Dr. H. G. Ghanawat,

Mr. Arvindbhai Shah, Dr. Silloo Bhagwagar and Ms Aban Mistry for their silent service of excellence in animal welfare.  

Mrs. Maneka Gandhi delivered the keynote address to jam packed K C collage auditorium attended by animal lovers and prestigious people from corporate world. She emphasised that all the Mumbai NGOs should unitedly come together and develop strong network and army to fight against animal cruelty and promote animal welfare. Animal awareness and conservation of environment should be taught to children at school level. She criticized the government for the destructions of trees and mangroves and wild life in the name of development in Mumbai city. She also requested the business people in the audience to support and help financially to Mumbai NGOs. She also insisted that stray dogs should be called Indian dogs, which will give them more opportunities for adoption. There were series of questions from the audience, which were replied effectively by

Mrs. Maneka Gandhi.
 
Mr. Navanitlal R. Shah concluded the program with vote of thanks to Mrs Maneka Gandhi and all the animal lovers. IDA India provides ambulance service to ill and injured stray animals in entire Mumbai city.
