Adoption / be a guardian angel
Check out our amazing animals, ready for adoption. Healthy cats and dogs, vaccinated, sterilized and ready to go to loving and welcoming new homes.

Can’t adopt but would really like to help care for these endearing creatures? There is a way. You can officially become a “Guardian Angel” for any one you chose, donating Rs.4,000/- annually for your own special favourite. This will cover the expenses of food, shelter and care at the IDA Centre for your chosen one. So go ahead, be an Angel if you like.

Blackie has a sense of humour, you can see it in his eyes. He loves to greet visitors to the IDA center and escort them around the place for a looksee. With a rough, furry coat, he looks a tough guy but he's a real softy at heart. Is there a home or a guardian angel out there for him? He's waiting anxiously.
       
 

Gotya
Came to us with Gangrene on his right fore limb. Now he has made a complete recovery and leads a healthy life. Sleek and tough, he’s one handsome feline! With his unique colouring and coat, he’s one goodlookiing dude!

A little aggressive at times but the smell of tea and he is as cool as a cucumber. Now patiently waiting for his new home.
 
 
   
 
Frisky
The most friendly cat, makes the loudest noise to get your attention as one enters the cat ward. Loves people and company and just waiting for a loving new family and home.
 
 
   
 
Sweetie
Has made a full recovery after falling from the third floor of a building which had damaged her spine. She gets her name from her sweet disposition.
 
 
   
 

Buffy
He has recovered from paralysis of the hind legs and leads a healthy life at the center. Would really love to laze, play and enjoy living in a new home where he would be guaranteed a lot of tender, loving care.

She is naughty and inquisitive about every thing. Very cute and friendly. Wouldn’t she look lovely sitting comfortably on your couch at home?

A green eyed beauty, playful and sweet natured. Loves to loll in the sun and run and play with a paper ball.

The queen of the Cat Ward.. She would grace any palace and should surely have pride of place in a loving home.

 
       
 
Kalu
The three legged cat with an attitude. Scratch him behind the ear on the right side and one can see a reflex action of his right amputated leg scratching himself. Having three legs just doesn’t bother him, he’s just as frisky and full of fun as a cat can be.

She is simply adorable, and doesn’t she look it? How can anyone resist those beautiful eyes and that elegant nose?

 
       
 
Sunny
Came with a ear problem, recovered and is living life with the others there. But this big guy wants out if you have a comfortable, sunny window-ledge just for him at home.

 
       
 
Blackie
Came with a big wound behind the ear and was very aggressive but now he is very cool. As sleek and beautiful as a miniature black panther he would fit in very well in a new loving home.
 
       
 
Chakshu Sr.
A fun loving one eyed cat. She’s really affectionate, soft and cuddly and that beautiful combination of colours makes her look really amazing.
 
       
 
Chakshu Jr.
Another one eyed, shy, thick long tailed cat, playful but likes to laze in the sun. And wasn’t that beautiful coat just made for stroking?

The blue eyed shy cat keeps to her self. She just needs to sit on a comfortable lap in a nice new home to become plump,beautiful and as contented as she can be.

This lovely girl is as sweet as her name. Beautiful to look at, very affectionate and playful, stroke her soft coat and hear her contented purr.

Short and stocky but very good looking with lovely brown eyes, Appu can run like the wind. What he’d really like is a home or a guardian angel to take care of him.
 
       
 
Jacky
This beautiful young dog has grown up at the Centre. He was brought here as a small pup - part of a group of puppies who had been put in a sack and thrown away in some location in Powai. Thankfully, they were rescued. But Jacky is the only one who survived that shock and trauma. He's got lovely yellow eyes and is a smiler! Waiting patiently for a home or a Guardian Angel.
 
       
 
Oldie
This old dog has suffered on the mean streets of Mumbai and is safe and resting now. Loves to sit in the sun and loves his meals too. He's very much in need of a guardian angel now to see to his care.
 
       
 
Sandy
This beautiful girl has a lovely coat and unusual brown/sandy coloured ears. Can you believe somebody abandoned her? She was sad but now she's one pleasant happy dog. She would love to live in her very own home at the center of a loving family. Any takers out there? Or guardian angels? She's waiting at IDA.
 
       
 
Beta
Smooth coated handsome male. Beta is good-natured and loving and also healthy. He's quiet and well-behaved too and needs a little love in his life from a new friend who will adopt him, or from a true guardian angel.
 
       
 
Pappya Bhatt
This quiet, good-natured dog is named after his first loving care-giver. This kind person looked after him on the road, even when he was very ill. But with the people in the locality threatening the life of this precious animal, Bhatt reluctantly kept him at IDA for safe keeping. Now Pappya is anxiously waiting for a new kind guardian angel to cater to his simple needs.

This handsome young male is very playful and as healthy as can be. He would really like to share a home with a new family or he wouldn't mind being looked after by his very own guardian angel.

This little chap has got a good name, sweet in nature and very playful, he's also quite shy. He's been at IDA since he was a small pup and also had look-a-like sister, but sadly, she died. Now this pretty little chap with a foxy face is waiting for some loving care in his new home, or from his dear guardian angel.
 
       
 
Tiger
Not at all as fearsome as his namesake, Tiger has a sweet nature and is a handsome boy. Wouldn't mind being personally groomed by loving hands and going for long walks with a good new friend. And would really appreciate his own guardian angel.
 
       
 
Pintoo
Pintoo is blind but he is also a sedate and quiet gentleman. Keeps to himself and likes to relax in a quiet corner. Be his guardian angel and he will love you for it.
 
       
 
Ronnie
This handsome old soldier had a ear bitten and damaged.Because of this injury,he was cruelly abandoned in the Aarey Milk Colony area. He now lives at the IDA center, a friendly and extremely deserving candidate for a good home or a loving guardian angel. (Sadly,Ronnie passed away on March 12.May his soul rest in peace.)
 
       
 
Kali
This little dog is friendly and shy at the same time. She sits quietly by herself until mealtime.Then see her run! She would also very much like to have a guardian angel waiting to care for her.
 
       
 
Don
Don is a mature Boxer. A kind person spotted him in the Khar area, where his previous callous owner had abandoned him.He had a large crude sign hanging from his neck, with his name and the word 'Help' written on it. His rescuer waited near him until we were able to rescue him and take him to the center. Starving and full of maggots, this beautiful dog bounced back to health with some care and kindness. We are happy to announce that he has been adopted and is now in a truly loving home.
 
       
 
Chanda
This fine looking female is healthy and affectionate. She is waiting for some outside help, from her own guardian angel, to make her life even better.
 
       
 
Lali
Found in a very poor condition on the road, Lali has recovered fully and is very interested in meeting visitors, eating her food and lazing in the sun. All she needs now is a kind supporter who can be her own guardian angel.
 
       
 
Fluffy
This beautiful furry male pup is a big boy. He's just 4 months old and growing fast. All his admirers will be happy to know that he has now been adopted into a good home. All of us at IDA wish him a wonderful future life.
 
       
 
Pixie
A delicate angel of a dog, Pixie is very loving and sweet. It seems unthinkable, but this little dog was found abandoned because she has one weak leg and some eye problems. She smiles at anyone who takes the time to pet her. What she needs now is a very safe haven, or a truly loving guardian angel.
 
       
 
Choco
This sweet little half-grown pup was full of mange when he came to the center. He has a nice caramel coloured coat now and yellow eyes to match. Very pleasant natured, friendly and timid he is in need now of a kind person to be his special friend or his own personal guardian angel.
 
       
 
Lion
He's an old boy who has really suffered in life. Practically blind when he came to IDA, tense and frightened, now with careful treatment, he can see. He's also totally relaxed now and likes to lie in the sun, waiting patiently for his very own guardian angel.
 
       
 
Robin
This good-looking little dog is still anxious about the future. Sadly, he had to be taken from his home because his guardian had become too old and sick to take care of him. He'd been well taken care of by her all this time. He badly needs a home or a loving, caring guardian angel.
